Kathy Giesbrecht is the Undergraduate Counselor at the Department of Geography. She has worked at the university for 5 ½ years , beginning her position with Geography in July 2011 after working for the Faculty of Forestry. Kathy advises students for the duration of their undergraduate studies and ensures the smooth running of the undergraduate program. She particularly enjoys working with the students and has been impressed by the quality and dedication of the student leaders involved in TUGS. She is looking forward to the release of the new departmental website which will allow her to better communication with students and provide them with up-to-date information.
Kathy has an academic background in music (alto saxophone) and history with a particular interest in Russian and Soviet literature and history. She is a budding gardener and is more than a little excited about her community garden vegetable plot.
