Geography Computer Lab (Department Local Area Network)
Room 620 is unavailable until further notice.
We are in the process of removing a few computers from this room in preparation for adding lounge furniture to the space . This room will in future be a combined drop-in computer lab and undergraduate lounge.
username : For undergraduate students, accounts are tied to a specific course. The username combines the course number and student’s UTORid; if the course number is GGR999 and the student’s name is Jane Smith the username will be g999smithj. For questions contact email@example.com (Department IT Support)
password : Your Initial password is your student #. For questions contact firstname.lastname@example.org. Your password should be changed to something at least 8 characters long, and combined with three of the four character categories:
- Lower Case Letters
- Upper Case Letters
Printing in the undergraduate student lab is administered via a printing account to which a quota is assigned, and a nominal charge deducted for each print. Further details will be provided in class. For troubleshooting contact email@example.com.
Saving Data on Computers
Data is not saved on the lab computers. To ensure our computers run efficiently, we perform regular maintenance that includes keeping the computers free of all data other than system files. Back-up your data frequently while using the lab computers, and ensure you have an appropriate storage and/or back-up method for your files (Eg. Use a USB key or email materials to yourself).
