July 17 Registration for fall session begins
August 1 Course enrolment begins
August 7 Civic holiday (University closed)
August 31 Last date for payment of tuition fees to meet registration deadline
September 4 Labour Day (University closed)
September 5-8 Orientation Week Activities
September 11 Most formal graduate courses and seminars begin
September 13 Summer session grades available for viewing online
September 15 Final date to submit PhD theses to SGS to avoid fees for 2017-2018
September 15 Registration for Fall session ends; after this date a late registration fee will be assessed
September 25 Final date to add full-year and Fall session courses
September 290 Final date for receipt of degree recommendations and submission of any required theses for master’s for Fall Convocation without fees being charged for the fall session
September 29 Final date to submit final PhD theses for Fall Convocation
October 9 Thanksgiving Day (University closed)
October 30 Final date to drop fall session half or full courses without academic penalty
November Fall Convocation – Information is posted at www.convocation.utoronto.ca
December 21 University closed for winter break until January 2 inclusive


Winter Session 2018

January 3 University reopens
January 8 Most formal graduate courses and seminars begin
January 12 Final date for registration for students beginning program in Winter session
January 15 Final date to submit PhD theses without fee payment for Winter session
January 17 Fall session grades available for viewing online
January 19 Final date for receipt of degree recommendations and submission of any required theses for master’s degrees for March (in absentia) or June Convocation without being charged fees for the Winter session
January 19 Final date to submit final doctoral thesis for March in absentia convocation
January 22 Final date to add winter session courses
February 19 Family Day (University closed)
February 26 Final date to drop full-year and winter courses without academic penalty
March March graduation in absentia – Information is posted at www.convocation.utoronto.ca
March 30 Good Friday (University closed)
April 20 Students recommended for convocation in June – Coursework must be completed and grades must be submitted  for full-year and Winter session courses
April 20 Final date for receipt of degree recommendations and submission of any required theses for master’s degrees for June Convocation
April 20 Final date for submission of final PhD theses for June Convocation


Summer Session 2018

May 4 Final date for registration for students beginning program in Summer session
May 7 Final date to enrol in May-June or May-August session courses
May 16 Full-year and Winter session grades available for viewing online
May 21 Victoria Day (University closed)
May 25 Final date to drop May-June courses without academic penalty
