April 4, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

The Toronto Centre for Active Transportation (TCAT), in partnership with Ryerson University and the University of Toronto, invites you to attend a launch event for a new book: Active Transportation Planning Beyond the Greenbelt: The Outer Ring of the Greater Golden Horseshoe Region

This publication addresses some of the unique challenges that face small towns and rural areas to improving conditions for pedestrians and cyclists. It also showcases impressive headway being made in 13 municipalities in the less densely populated and urbanized parts of the Greater Golden Horseshoe Region. Opening remarks will be provided by TCAT Director Nancy Smith Lea, followed by a short presentation by researchers Neil Loewen & Danielle Culp, and a panel discussion moderated by Dr. Raktim Mitra, Assistant Professor and Co-Director, TransForm Laboratory, School of Urban and Regional Planning at Ryerson University, and featuring planners from two of the projects featured in the book, and one of the lead investigators:

Jennifer Juste, Transportation Demand Management Supervisor, City of Guelph

Sarah Wilhelm, Senior Planner, Wellington County

Dr. Paul Hess, Associate Professor, Department of Geography and Planning, University of Toronto
